FORGOTTEN PAST

...much to say but a few listeners!

AGE IS NOT HOW OLD YOU ARE, BUT HOW MANY YEARS OF FUN YOU HAD

Loneliness and social isolation puts individuals at greater risk of cognitive decline and dementia

With the use of our easy to use systems, using everyday gadgets such as smartphones or tablets you can store memories using various media to remind you of your favourite memorable moments.

We care about you, we want to hear all your greatest and worst stories. Not every story should be forgotten.

Loneliness is not something to be embarrassed about, but should be fought whenever possible.

Older People

The older people in our community are the ones who suffer the most from isolation, hence why we have many ways of meeting their needs. Unfortunately in our society older people are sometimes forgotten. Social Call Services are here to change that. We believe that the soul and spirit of a person is the same age with everyone else, its only the body that ages.

Social Call Services wants to spread our message of hope and compassion to those who may be losing hope. We believe that our Social Call Services initiative can make a difference among older people who live in isolation in the community and that this service can greatly impact their world positively.

This consequentially reduces avoidable and unplanned hospital admissions among the socially isolated, frail and disabled.

In October 2018, the then PM Theresa May launched the first Cross-Government strategy to tackle loneliness, three-quarters of GPs surveyed have said they are seeing between one and five people a day suffering from loneliness, which is linked to a range of damaging health impacts, like heart disease, strokes and Alzheimer’s disease.

The Social Call Service initiative gives continued support to isolated older people to be discharged from the hospital when they are ready since they look forward to being discharged back to their homes, consequently thereby inducing low levels of delays in discharge from the hospital.

Through creatively recreating simulations of past memories, highlighting relevant current affairs in their communities, future plans and wishes, advocacy and signposting service users to other services such as outreach activities, day-care centres, cookery classes, walking clubs and art groups as well as developing friendship and so on, our team works tirelessly each day to contribute their part to the greater good.

WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING THROUGH IN LIFE, HERE AT SOCIAL CALL SERVICES, WE DO CARE.

Anyone can feel alone & experience loneliness at some point in life! At Social Call Services, we are here to help reduce isolation using our technology and real people who care. Despite being available to everyone our service targets young adults to older people experiencing social isolation.
